The Purifier Building and Shipwright’s Hall - home to Wooden Boatbuilding in Faversham!

Purifier Building Old Morrisons Car Park, Faversham ME13 7DY

Headquarters of the Faversham Creek Trust and once part of the town’s Gas Works, which originally held the meters for gas before feeding into the gasometers where the old supermarket now stands. Restored entirely by volunteers, the building is a valuable community asset and home to wooden boat building and other maritime trades.

Discover its intriguing history at the Creek Trust’s exhibition in the Arthur Percival Room and then take a look at a wooden boat being made. Cinque Ports Rowing CIC is building its fifth skiff in the Shipwrights Hall and boat builders and rowers will be there to answer questions and explain the process to you.

There is an opportunity to join this dedicated group of people of all abilities and backgrounds, aged from 12 - 85, that undertakes boatbuilding and rowing throughout the year.
